Work Exchange Program
Spend a month in the US Virgin Islands on a Working Vacation in Paradise! Concordia Eco-Resort's work exchange program begins June 1st and ends November 15th.
Applications for the Work Exchange Program are accepted online between December 15th and April 15th for the next summer's session.
The work Exchange Program is an economical way to experience the island of St John and the surrounding United States and British Virgin Islands. In exchange for free lodging, we ask for a commitment of one month working in one of our various departments; Maintenance, Housekeeping, Registration, or other specified area. Your placement will depend upon your skills and our needs.
If you are 18 years or older you are welcome to apply. Sorry, we cannot accommodate families with children under 18. We look for enthusiastic individuals or couples with skills that will help us keep Concordia Eco-Resort up to par during the off season and help us to prepare the property for the coming high season.
We ask your commitment to 4 hours of work for each night of lodging at Concordia. A stay of 30 days would require 120 hours of work. Volunteers generally work 6 hours a day for 5 days with 2 days off each week. Duties might include: tent-cottage renovations, painting, cleaning restrooms, pruning the bush, office work, pressure washing boardwalks and stairs, cashiering in the store, pool cleaning, customer service, etc.
Benefits include: free housing, 25% discounts at our store and cafe, 50% discounts on snorkel gear and chairs and discounts at Maho Bay Camps' Restaurant, General Store, and most water sports activities such as diving, windsurfing, snorkel gear and sailing trips.
Summer time in the Caribbean is quite hot and humid, though not as hot as summer in most of the states, and our white sand beaches and crystal clear waters are the perfect remedy. You will also enjoy our fresh water swimming pool, and Salt Pond Bay beach and hiking trails within a short walking distance.
If this sounds like a mutually beneficial arrangement, please fill out the application form. We accept 16 to 20 applicants each month. Last year we had hundreds applications so it can be a bit competitive. We look forward to having you join us!
Please note that the work exchange program is available at both Maho Bay Camps, our sister resort, and Concordia Eco-Resort. We share the data base you will apply through, so if you are applying for a position at Concordia, please be sure to note "Concordia" on your application form in the "positive effect" field.
