Hiking

St. John is two-thirds National Park and is an ideal hiking island. At Concordia, you can start right outside your door!

Short hikes take you to the Salt Pond Beach with an extension out to Ram Head and Drunk Bay. Just off the path to Ram Head is the spur path to Drunk Bay.  This grand beachcombing hike is easy and interesting as you pass a Salt Pond used for centuries to gather sea salt.

Full moon night hikes to Ram Head make a memorable and romantic evening. Take a flashlight and camera as you start at the Concordia parking lot.

One popular hike for our guests includes taking the bus from Concordia to the spine  of the island (Centerline Road), then hike the Reef Bay Trail down to Lamshire Bay and Little Lamshire Bay, finishing back at Concordia.  This is rewarding full day hike so take plenty of water and lunch.

Starting in Coral Bay is a hike to several ruins, Leinster Bay and Waterlemon Cay.

Guided hikes are also available through the National Park. Our Activities Desk has maps and additional trail information to help you plan your routes.
