Resident Manager needed Starting July 2017 at Concordia Campgrounds, Inc. on St. John, US Virgin Islands

An internationally known eco-resort in an extraordinary location, Concordia is a unique resort built on twenty acres of hillside with stunning ocean views. It consists 25 eco-cottages, 17 studio units, a yoga pavilion, a café and a sundry store. Concordia needs an enthusiastic, versatile, resilient and hands-on person with a strong work ethic and excellent people skills to help manage the day to day operation.

Applicants must be mature professional individuals, physically capable of active work in a tropical environment on a challenging, mountainside, twenty-acre property; must have a minimum of three years experience in positions of responsibility; need to possess good people skills, an understanding of guest service and the willingness and ability to interact diplomatically and effectively with the local community, a diverse staff and senior management. Any relevant experience in eco-tourism and the Caribbean environment is a plus.

The primary responsibility is to assist the Resort Manager with the day-to-day operation of the resort. As Resident Manager, applicant will be responsible for hands-on involvement with staffing, training, motivating and supporting various departments including, but not limited to, registration, bookkeeping, maintenance, housekeeping, security, activities and food service.

The Resident Manager is responsible for the review of applicants and recruitment and management of volunteer workers in the 4-Hour Work Program at Concordia.

Additional duties include assisting Registration with heavy check-ins/check-outs, handling guest complaints and general guest relations. She / He will also be responsible for up to 3 night manager on duty shifts, and one a.m. opening procedure. The Resident Manager may also be called upon as first able to respond in a rare emergency situation.

The Resident Manager will be CPR certified. The company will pay for training.

Compensation includes salary; on-property housing (one-bedroom apartment); basic utilities; a monthly draw on the store and restaurant; paid vacation; health insurance and retirement program.

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Tasks include but are not limited handling reservations, (Concordia will provide training specific to the property management program we use.) promoting guest activities, processing boutique sales, and assisting with other departments when directed. (including but not limited to housekeeping and waitressing.) Concordia is a 40 minute drive from Cruz Bay, and  the successful applicant will need to live locally as the roster will vary weekly and include early and late shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Compensation and Benefits include an hourly wage; paid vacation accrued hourly; paid sick time accrued hourly beginning after the first six months of employment; nine paid holidays; an annual holiday bonus based on service; annual profit sharing based on service.
